Core Beliefs
Winners Church believes that the Bible is God’s Word, we are Holy Spirit filled and led, we believe in healing, miracles, signs, wonders, and there is heaven for those who die in Christ, or who are raptured.
God
There is one eternal existing God who has three distinct persons: God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit. He is the creator of all that exists, both visible and invisible, and is therefore worthy of all glory and praise. God is perfect in love, power, holiness, goodness, knowledge, wisdom, justice, and mercy. He is unchangeable and therefore is the same yesterday, today, and tomorrow.
Genesis 1:1, Genesis 1:26-27, Psalm 90:2, 1 Peter 1:2, 2 Corinthians 13:14
Jesus
Jesus is the head of the church and the one and only way to heaven. Jesus lived a sinless human life and offered Himself as the perfect sacrifice for the sins of all people by dying on the cross. He rose from the dead after three days and demonstrated His power over sin and death. He ascended to heaven and will return again to earth to reign as King.
Colossians 1:18, Mathew 1:22-23, Isaiah 9:6, John 1:15, John 14:10-30, Hebrews 4:14-15, Timothy 6:14-15
Holy Spirit
The Holy Spirit is present in the word to make men aware of their need for Jesus. He lives in every Christian from the moment of salvation. He provides the Christian with power for living, understanding of spiritual truths, and guidance in following God’s word. As a Christian, we seek to be led by the Holy Spirit daily.
Acts 1:8, John 16:7-13, Galatians 5:25, 1 Corinthians 2:12
The Holy Bible
The bible is God’s word to us. It was written by the disciples of Jesus Christ under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs for Spirit led living. Because it was inspired by God, it is the truth for all areas of our lives.
2 Timothy 3:16, 2 Peter 1:20-21, Psalm 119:105,160, Proverbs 30:5
Salvation
Salvation is God’s free gift to us but we must accept it. We can never make up for our sin by self improvement or good works. Only by receiving Jesus Christ as Lord can anyone be saved from sins penalty. When we turn from our self ruled life and turn to Jesus in faith, we are saved. Eternal life begins the moment we receive Jesus Christ as Lord of our lives by faith.
Romans 6:23, Ephesians 2:8-9, John 14:6, Titus 3:5, Romans 5:1, Romans 10:9-10
Water Baptism
Baptism is symbolic of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ. Once we have accepted Jesus as Lord and Savior, baptism is a way for us to publicly declare our new life in Christ. It is also a step of obedience based on God’s commands and allows us to follow the example of Jesus who submitted himself to baptism to “fulfill all righteousness.”
Matthew 3:16-17, Matthew 28:18-20, Acts 2:41, Acts 8:12
Baptism in the Holy Spirit
The baptism that empowers for ministry is the Baptism in the Holy Spirit. This is the baptism Jesus promised before His death: “And I will ask the Father and he will give you another Advocate, who will never leave you” (John 14:16). It is the baptism which came on the disciples at Pentecost when “everyone present was filled with the Holy Spirit and began speaking in other languages, as the Holy Spirit gave them this ability.”
John 14:16, Acts 2:4
Tithe
Winners Church believes that all believers participate in the tithe, 10% of your income, 10 cents out of every dollar we make. God never intended the tithe to be a means to raise funds for the church. There is a use for the tithe but its purpose is not to meet a need. The tithe is a spiritual principle that is supernatural.
Genesis 14:17-24, Hebrews 6:20 and 7:1, Malachi 3:8-11, Proverbs 3:9-10
